How far would you go for something you truly love? After graduating, Pierre-Henri spent a year in the vineyards of Domaine de Montille and later selling oak barrels to some of the most respected names, such as Philippe Alliet in Chinon, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Burgundy and Jean-Francois Ganevat in Jura. It gives him a chance to know how great wines could be made diversely.
With his family rooted in the centre of Meursault village, Pierre-Henri has now been quietly producing impeccable minimal intervention, low-sulfur wines since he returned to the family Domaine in 2010. It was a constant attempt to make his father actually likes natural wine (we all know how difficult it is to change a traditional winemaker’s mind). They took their first steps towards organic certification in 2012 and went organic in 2017. The first certified vintage will be 2020.
Pierre-Henri started the micro-négociant business 'Pierre-Henri Rougeot' in 2017 where he sources grapes from the family Domaine and also from the others. Here we are seeing a rising star and the future is bright. We are proud to bring his wines to Hong Kong.
Pierre-Henri's wines could be a good start for people who are interested in natural wine. Subtle and classy, just like the men himself.
