The “Jeunes Pousses” story comes from a long-lasting friendship between Thibault Liger-Belair and Ivan Massonnat. Thibault’s idea was to provide an entire estate to young winegrowers for three years and allow them to learn how to manage a vineyard before they settle on their own. In 2015, Ivan (owner of the Belargus estate in Anjou) became fond of this philanthropic initiative. Together, they decided to start this “Young Shoots” adventure and bought vines and a house to become the wine cellar.
The project provides young winegrowers with 5.2ha of vineyards in organic and biodynamic farming for three years in Beaujolais. After managing this estate for three years, with their experience and the help of the people who supported them during the apprenticeship, they will be able to acquire or rent vines to start their own estate.
From vintage 2020-2022, the winery is under the hands of Angela Quiblier and Hugo Foizel, who has previously worked at Domaine Leroy and Domaine de la Romanee Conti respectively.
